Hearts Unbroken

When Louise Wolfe's first boyfriend mocks and disrespects Native people, she ends the relationship. In her senior year, she would rather focus on family, friends, and the school newspaper. Paired with ambitious new photojournalist Joey Kairouz, Louise helps cover a conflict over the school musical director's inclusive casting of The Wizard of Oz. Backlash and anonymous threats expose long-held prejudice in their mostly white Kansas town, especially against the students at the center of the controversy. As tensions grow, so does a romance between Louise and Joey, leaving her to decide how to protect her heart without breaking his.
