They Bloom at Night

A red algae bloom has overtaken Mercy, Louisiana, after a devastating hurricane, while mutated wildlife moves through the town's rising water. Noon navigates the submerged community, her mother's belief that dead relatives have returned as sea creatures, and the buried trauma of a party at the cove. When Mercy's predatory leader orders Noon and her mother to capture the creature drowning residents, Noon finds an unexpected ally and must confront both the approaching storm and the monster she feels beneath her own skin.
