Alanna: The First Adventure

Alanna of Trebond wants to become a knight in a kingdom where girls are forbidden to train as warriors. She exchanges places with her twin brother and enters the palace disguised as Alan, beginning the demanding education of a royal page. Weapons, combat, magic, court behavior, and control of her temper all test the identity she has chosen. The first Song of the Lioness novel follows Alanna's earliest steps toward knighthood and the dangers of keeping her secret.
