This One Summer

Rose returns to Awago Beach for the summer expecting the familiar rituals of the lake house and time with her younger friend Windy. Instead, her parents are fighting, her mother has withdrawn, and the girls become absorbed in the lives of older teenagers facing a crisis of their own. Written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Jillian Tamaki, the graphic novel follows Rose at the unsettled edge of adolescence as family strain, secrets, and new awareness reshape a place she thought she understood.
