About this work & edition details

Helga Weiss begins documenting her life as a Jewish schoolgirl in Prague during the Nazi invasion. At Terezín, she continues the diary and creates drawings of daily life before her deportation to Auschwitz and other camps. Hidden inside a wall by her uncle, the pages survive the war and are later recovered, preserving Helga's account in both words and images.
