About this work & edition details

After using her father's credit card to build the wardrobe she believes she needs at prep school, Margot Sánchez is ordered to repay the debt by working in her family's struggling South Bronx grocery store. The punishment threatens the social identity she has carefully constructed, while neighborhood relationships, family tensions, and her own choices force her to reconsider what she values and where she belongs.
