About this work & edition details

Twin sisters Sara and Tegan Quin revisit their adolescence in 1990s Calgary, before they became recording artists. Told in alternating voices, the memoir follows their separate experiences of identity, sexuality, first love, family upheaval, friendship, drugs, and the first songs they wrote together. Their memories sometimes diverge even when they describe the same rooms and events, making the sisters' relationship part of the story as well as its structure. The result traces how two teenagers began finding both their individual voices and the collaboration that would shape their adult lives.

High School

High School is a story about finding your own identity - a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mimics your own. Told through a backdrop of 90s grunge and rave culture, the series weaves between parallel and discordant memories of twin sisters growing up down the hall from one another.
